Affirming Parenthood aims to provide parents and caregivers options for timely, consistent, and effective interventions after discharge from the NICU. It is our mission to promote positive parenting experiences and act as your resource and support during this big transition.
Tessa Horst Pickard, MS, LCSW – Tessa is a licensed clinical social worker and infant-family & early childhood mental health specialist. She has specific experience working in early infant development and providing therapeutic services to children ages 0-5, and has been working with children and families for over nine years. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College and her graduate degree from Columbia University.
Erika Cardamone, MS, CCC-SLP – Erika is a licensed speech-language pathologist and has been working with children and families for over seven years in areas of speech, language, feeding, and swallowing. She has experience working with a wide array of medically fragile children and children needing extra support to build feeding and communication skills. Erika received her Bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology from Columbia University.
